Travelling may not seem a wise idea right now amid Covid-19 outbreak, but you can always plan for your future travel endeavors. Keeping that in mind, Ferrari has come with up a limited edition line of luggage inspired by their classic cars. The Italian luxury sports car manufacturer has teamed up with Industrial designer Marc Newson to create the luxury luggage collection.
The designer has taken inspiration from Ferrari cars (present and past) and the surrounding landscape of the Ferrari factory for this project. The custom luggage collection consists of six products that include a quarantottore, trolley, duffel bag, garment bag and a suitcase. A quarantottore is a special business briefcase that can also be used as a short trip bag to carry overnight essentials. The designer has taken ideas, colors, textures and shapes by studying various Ferrari roadsters for this collection. The products are offered in five shades of vintage Ferrari interior colors. Besides that, a vinaccia burgundy hue is also developed exclusively for this collection.
The Ferrari lining pattern for the collection is inspired by the hills of Emilia-Romagna and the classic designs of the brand. On the other hand, the interior yellow color of the suitcase matches the building tradition found in the city of Modena. The external leather pattern is imagined after the cam covers of Ferrari engines whereas the handles are designed after the classic Ferrari steering wheel. Also, using similar techniques that are used in the LaFerrari pedals, Ferrari engineers developed the trolley’s patented roller handle sliding mechanism.
The limited edition Ferrari luggage collection by Marc Newson will be produced by Leather goods company Schedoni. The Italian company has been manufacturing made-to-measure suitcases for Ferrari from the past 50 years. The Ferrari luggage collection will be exclusive to Ferrari customers only. The products are available through the personalization catalogue and each piece will come with a unique chassis number.
