Altar Furniture, Budapest-based bespoke luxury furniture company founded back in 2013 is a specialist in creating pinball coffee tables. Last year, the company grabbed some attention for its R2-D2 coffee table based on a 1991 Star Wars pinball game.Well, here is another masterpiece by Altar targeted to star fans in the form of the Shuttle interactive coffee table. A one-of-a-kind collectible for any Star Trek fan, the shuttle pinball coffee table actually features an original Star Trek pinball playfield. It was manufactured and sold by Data East in 1991.
Measuring 21.5 inches high, 57.9 inches long and 28.2 inches wide, the Star Trek pinball machine coffee table weighs around 50 kilograms. It took over 390 hours to complete the project, starting back in July 2014. This Star Trek table was first showcased at the PlayIt 2014 game show in Budapest. Besides electronic controls and LED lighting, it comes with a secret pull-out compartment as well concealing three glowing dilithium crystals.
Well, if that’s not enough to satisfy your Sci-Fi fantasy, the Shuttle interactive coffee table by Altar Furniture also comes with four real meteorites. Built into the back container, the four meteorites includes a Muoninalusta, a Chelyabinsk, a Moldavite and a Indochynite. The Star Trek themed Shuttle interactive coffee table will cost you about $15,000. Well, seems like only rich Star Trek fans will be able to get their hands on this collectible.
