If you want to witness creative side of sneakers culture, then you must check out these iconic plastic kicks in brick-form. Young artist Tom Yoo is well-known for his ingenious takes on some of the popular shoe brands that are given complete Lego makeover. The imaginative maker has formed a series of 10 Lego art sculptures that consists of most celebrated shoe releases over the years, including Nike Air Mag, Air Jordan and Air Yeezy 2.
Each shoe is handmade out of toy building blocks and assembled with glue, plus each comes in a fully-protected custom laser-cut mini shoe box, modeled after the Jordan 3’s. A certificate of authenticity will also be provided to the buyer.
For a few months now, Yoo has been seen uploading images of his limited edition Lego sneakers on his Instagram. But now he has taken a big leap and made his collection available for purchase. So, sneakerheads can treat their kicks with these plastic shoes that are priced between $2,000-$3,000. Moreover, all orders will be taken through email at email@example.com on first-come, first-served basis.
Thinking the amount is too much for plastic sneakers? Well, the Lego sneakers by Tom Yoo are actually for a good cause. As 10-percent of the sale proceeds will be split and donated to the Downtown Women’s Center and the Union Rescue Mission. These are non-profit organizations that are dedicated to helping the homeless in Los Angeles’ Skid Row. So, you can indulgently support this noble cause.
