Scotland’s whisky brand, The Famous Grouse celebrated its 107th Birthday in Crieff, Scotland on Sunday 12th August. On this special occasion the brand was also awarded the Guinness World Record for the largest bottle of whisky.
The huge 228-litre bottle stands at five feet and five inches in height and is filled with The Famous Grouse blended whisky. It took the fans and the VIP guests about three hours to fill the bottle which holds the equivalent of 8,000 drams of whisky.
The bottle is handmade by BOMMA, Czech glass manufacturers which was commissioned by The Famous Grouse to produce a bottle of such size. The bottle has traveled more than 1,200 miles from Svetla, a town near Prague and now it is displayed at The Famous Grouse Experience for the visitors and fans to see for themselves.
The previous world record for the largest bottle of whisky in the world was held by a 184-liter bottle of Jack Daniel’s which was created last year.
