Dutch couple to drive to South Pole in solar-powered vehicle made from plastic waste

Plastic waste has become one of the most serious problems for our planet. Well, most of us dispose plastic into the trash can after use but for a Dutch couple it has turned out to be the most valuable resource for their project. In an effort to promote zero waste living, Liesbeth and Edwin ter Velde of the Clean2Antarctica project will be making an adventurous journey all the way to South Pole. The couple will be driving Solar Voyager, a solar-powered vehicle which is built from recycled plastic waste.

Taking their effort to combat ocean plastic problem, Adidas revealed an all new 3rd football kit for Spanish football club and Champions League winners Real Madrid. The coral pink strip is made from recycled ocean plastic salvaged from different water bodies across the globe.

Working with scraps of industrial machinery, recycled and salvaged from various urban spaces, his work has revolved around the storytelling of our collective past through nostalgia-imprinted sculptures and assemblies. Well, for his new bold typewriter gun series, the artist has transformed various Underwood Olivetti Lettera 32 typewriting machines along with few other brands into Typewriter Guns by reassembling every piece of the original machines.
