For its 2021 competition, the Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards has shortlisted 42 images sent by photographers from across the world. These 42 pictures were selected from more than 7,000 entries submitted for the competition. Open to wildlife photography experts and novices, the free competition celebrates the funny side of wildlife and also highlights what we need to do to protect it.
It was in 2015 when wildlife photographer Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE along with photographer Tom Sullam started the Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards competition. The main objective was wildlife conservation and to entertain people with these photographs and engage them with the threats these animals are facing. Also, to make people empathize with them as fellow inhabitants of the same planet. Since its inception, the competition has grown into a global event that sees thousands of entries every year from across the globe.

For this year’s competition, we have some humorous entries like a laughing snake, a giggling seal and a rude chameleon. Here are some of our favorite picks from all the 42 final entries. Check them out down below.
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards chooses a different charity to support and highlight every year. This year, 10% of the net revenue from this year’s awards will be donated to Gunung Palung Orangutan Project, a movement to protect wild orangutans. The winners of the 2021 Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards will be announced on October 22, 2021. Checkout their official website for more information.
