Famed guitar maker Paul Reed Smith and Grammy-winning musician John Mayer have teamed up for the limited edition Private Stock Super Eagle instruments. It is a really classy and innovative guitar that’s designed to depict the history of guitar-making. The guitar tone literally pushes the boundaries of materials, design and fine craftsmanship.
This latest PRS guitar is a reflection of Mayer’s keen eye for tone, detain and playability, as well as PRS’ renowned workmanship. The features that truly makes this product stand out are the personalized specifications made by both Mayer and Smith. It comes with a longer scale length of 25.375-inches, specially-wound 58/15 JM treble and bass pickups with a specially-wound Narrowfield JM pickup in the middle position. Plus, it also has a JCF Audio preamp with treble boost.
To top it all, the guitar comes with a hand-signed sticker in the f-hole of the guitar, which was designed by Mayer’s friend David Smith (who also designed the cover art for Mayer’s 2012 “Born and Raised” album). Moreover, the pickups are created to deliver bright and clear tone for better performances.
The Private Stock Super Eagle will be limited to only 100 instruments, which can be ordered from March 11, 2016 to April 1, 2016.
