Spying on your friends will now be much hi-tech and cooler than before with the Pocket Drone. Manufactured by San Diego-based AirDroids, the Pocket Drone can be your personal flying robot allowing you to capture videos and photos from the sky. This micro drone is claimed by its manufacturers to be the world’s first multicopter with a collapsible design and enough power to carry a high quality action camera. The Pocket Drone tricopter comes with a compact foldable design and collapsible propeller blades allowing it to fit in your backpack or luggage. It’s got enough power to carry a GoPro camera for clicking amazing pictures and videos.
Made from high-impact plastic and carbon fiber, the Pocket drone is lighter, easy to control and quieter than a quadcopter. The drone is equipped with rechargeable lithium-polymer batteries which are good enough to provide about 20 minutes of flight time with the HD camera mounted on its back. The Pocket Drone can be piloted with an included controller or a free app for your mobile device or can fly on its own using pre- programmed GPS waypoints.
The Drone by AirDroids is currently raising funds on Kickstarter and has already smashed the funding target with more than 51 days to go. It is expected to arrive around June 2014; you can book one for yourself with a pledge of $495.
